Jose Antonio, Ph.D. has earned a B.S. in Biology, an M.S. in Exercise Physiology and a Ph.D. in Muscle Physiology. He also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism. After leaving academia Jose gained a position with nutrition products leader MET-Rx. Anna Lepeley, M.S., CSCS, CISSN is currently working on her Ph.D. with Touro University International. Her dissertation work will focus on ergogenic aid effects with females. As a former competitive and aggressive inline skater, up until her 20′s, and a passionate weightlifter since the age of 8, Anna’s active youth directed her straight into the realm of Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition. Anna received her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Florida International University specializing in strength and conditioning. Ericca Kern, an icon in the world of female bodybuilding, is recognized for her expertise in training and nutrition and has an extensive background in the marketing of nutritional supplements. David Sandler, M.S., CSCS*D, CCS, HFD is President and Co-Founder of StrengthPro Inc. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Miami and has been a strength and conditioning consultant for more than 19 years. He has presented more than 230 lectures with organizations such as the NSCA, ACSM, AAHPERD, IFPA, SWIS, ECA and SCW Fitness. David has authored or co-authored five books: Sports Power, Weight Training Fundamentals, The Resistance Band Workout Book, Plyo Power, and Strength Training Everyone. He has also been the lead exercise and sports physiologist for more then 30 episodes of television for National Geographic’s series Fight Science, Super Strength, the Science of Steroids, Humanly Possible, and the Emmy Award winning Sport Science series on Fox Sports Network. Justin Schwind and Priscilla Ribic
Justin Schwind is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of South Alabama Jaguars football program. Schwind earned his B.S. in Exercise Science from Texas State in 2004. After serving as a strength and conditioning intern at Rice, where he also assisted with neuroscience research at Baylor’s College of Medicine in a study on athletic performance and visualization, he would go on to earn his M.S. from Mississippi State in Physical Education in 2007. Priscilla Ribic is a drug-free powerlifter currently residing in Alaska, the Last Frontier! She became interested in powerlifting in high school when she took a weight training class and discovered how strong she was. At the age of 16 and a body weight of 135, she benched 165 pounds and squatted 285 pounds raw. Her best competition lifts currently are a 548-pound squat, 341.5-pound bench, 556-pound deadlift and 1388-pound total in the 148 lb. weight class. Jeffrey R. Stout, Ph.D., FISSN is currently an Assistant Professor and Director of the Metabolic and Body Composition Laboratory in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. He received a undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University in 1989 and a masters and doctorate in Exercise Physiology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992 and 1995, respectively. In addition, Dr. Stout is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM), Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Dr. Stout has conducted and published numerous studies that focus on nutritional intervention on exercise performance, muscle function and body composition in journals such as Journal of Applied Physiology, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Furthermore, he has edited and co-authored six books on sports nutrition.
Ben Rosenblatt, graduated in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff where he is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in the biomechanical specificty of the power clean to sprinting. Previously he was a voluntary strength and conditioning assistant at Long Beach State University and the Rehabilitation Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Olympic Medical Institue. Now in his second season as Head of Sports Science and Conditioning at Birmingham City Football Club, he has been promoted to the Premier League Campaign to Manchester United.
Disa L. Hatfield, Ph.D., M.A., is currently an assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island in the Department of Kinesiology. Dr. Hatfield earned her first Master’s degree in psychology at Antioch University, Santa Barbara and her second in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut and her Ph.D. from the University if Connecticut. Dr. Hatfield’s research interests include the hormonal responses to resistance exercise, particularly the responses of Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Growth Hormone. Dr. Hatfield also has research experience investigating the role of supplementation and resistance exercise, children and exercise, and the weight-loss and health benefits of differing diets in combination with resistance training. She is also a 3-time National Champion Powerlifter and former American Bench Press record holder. She is an active participant of the ACSM and NSCA.
Mike Irr, CSCS, is the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the NBA team, Charlotte Bobcats. He previously served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Chicago Bulls. He earned his degree from the University of Connecticut and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Erik Helland, is the Bulls’ Strength & Conditioning Coach and one of the NBA’s most respected and tenured strength coaches. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he earned his degree in Physical Education with an emphasis on athletic training and coaching. Erik is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist and USA Weightlifting as a Level I coach.
