I am sitting here watching the NFL network special , A Football Life - Steve McNair. The clips they show in this documentary bring me right back to being a young fan all over again. I’m swollen with pride. The early 2000's were some of the greatest times to be a Titans fan. They don't make tough quarterbacks like Steve anymore. and the games that he played hurt are unbelievable. It was also interesting to see how many young top players today came out of Steve’s summer camps for young players (Cam Newton, Vince Young, etc.). Overall Steve was a staple for this organization. Through all of his faults and trials (I wonder what would have happened if we wouldn't have traded him to bring in Vince Young).
On to the game against the Steelers. I did not have high hopes coming into this game. I was more excited getting to see the Titans in prime time then I was for any hopes of a win. The Titans played hard through the first three quarters, but what happened in the fourth quarter was like watching a film clip of the 08' Titans. They were blocking well, they were creating holes to run, the pass blocking was better, and the defence was not horrible as they had been the previous games against the Vikings, and Texans. It felt validating to watch the final drive that ultimately won the game thanks to Bironas. I would say give the coaches a few more weeks before we decide who to fire.
The game against the Bills is going to be a dog fight. We are a 2- 4 team that’s going to face a hungry 3-3 Bills team on the road. I agree with Hoppy’s blog on takeonthetitans.com about the Bills having some easy wins the last few weeks. I do think that they will come to play. They have some powerful offensive weapons in Spiller, Johnson, and Fitzpatrick. I think both the Titans and the Bills are very similar, and will make this a good match-up. The Bills offense needs improvement and their defense has been playing similar football to our defense. This maybe the time to resort to the passing game a lot more, although Hasselbeck and the wide receivers need to get on the same page or we will see a pickup in incomplete passes and interceptions. I also think Chris Johnson can be affective on the ground. Remember last year when he ran all over the Bills in Orchard Park. To me this is a low scoring, close game with the Titans taking it 20-17 . Thanks for the great podcast guys! I always look forward to the podcast. I apologize for writing in/calling so much I am just an excited fan. I do encourage everyone to call, write, and post on the facebook page, and takeonthetitans.com!
Thanks,
Andy

Stupid Question of the Week
If the team doesn’t turn this around, who will be the first to be fired?
So it's week 5 in the NFL and it seems that the networks have already got the Texans playing the ravens in the AFC championship game, and the 49ers and cardinals being the only thing to talk about in the NFC. They spend hours bashing in Chris Johnson for his poor performances through the first three weeks, then he comes out and rushes for 141 yards and they just brush it off like it was supposed to happen. I think it should be great news ! Not just for fantasy owners but for all titans fans! This means all hope is not lost with our rushing game! Our offensive line did look a lot better then the first few weeks which means we are getting better we just have to keep working at it. I think we play a difficult game with Minnesota this week. Ponder has been looking good, and so have the rest of the Vikings. Our defense needs to stay in the game which is going to be difficult due to how many points they have been giving up. Their play last weekend looked like a high school receiving core could have worked them over, with that being said I have seen some slight improvement. I think we see a nice mix of the run and pass this weekend with a lot of play action with Hasslebeck. I say the titans win by a slim margin 21-17( right Lindsay?!)

Stupid Question of the Week
When will the defense hold someone under 30 points?
Long time listener from Smyrna, Tn, love the show. Since the league seems to be going more towards receiving tight ends and we can't seem to stop any of them, do you think it's time for the Titans to switch to a 3-4 defense ? Steve

Stupid Question of the Week
Will any of the coaching staff get fired before the end of the season?
Hey fellas, Andy from Pa . I have to say first off that I'm with Lindsey and I never pick against the titans, but overall I knew that the Titans were a long-shot. The Titans started the first drive on fire and it looked like our enthusiasm would carry us passed the long-shot victory for the titans that everyone was calling for. Breaking down the game though, the titans didn't move the ball on the ground at all. Four yards for a top their runningback is almost as pathetic as the lions losing all their regular season games a few years ago. On the bright side I think Jake Locker looked good through the air but his accuracy was questionable at times. Moving on to the defense , they looked okay, not great. I think this was expected though going up against such a high power offense. I was disappointed when locker got hurt because there were many more offensive players that were faster and less at risk to make the tackle after the hard hit on Washington. I think we learned a lot overall about this years team with this game. ( although we quit as a whole with about 6 minutes left in the game) . Also the refs were not the greatest on calling this game either. Thanks guys! Thoughts ?
Hey guys, I really appreciate you guys reading my last email and I'm surprised you pronounced my last name right so thanks. In case you guys wanted to know I actually don't live too far from Chicago. I know I'm going to feel the heat of the Bears fans when Week 9 rolls around. Anyway, I wanted to talk about the game this week. Obviously we have our work cut out for us. On defense we need to make sure every guy is covered. Hernandez, Welker, Lloyd, and especially Gronkowski. I think the most important thing is we gotta put alot of pressure on Brady. On offense we should be able to move the ball against them because you gotta remember, even though they were in the super bowl last year they did have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. I'm really looking forward to seeing Jake Locker take us all the way and Chris Johnson having a bounceback year. Thanks guys, GO TITANS!
