Jim Stoppani, Ph.D. received his doctorate in exercise physiology from the University of Connecticut. He served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Yale University School of Medicine, where he investigated the effects of exercise and diet on gene regulation in muscle tissue. Currently, he is senior science editor for Muscle and Fitness, Muscle and Fitness Hers and Flex magazines and is a science consultant for numerous companies. Dr. Stoppani has written hundreds of articles on exercise, diet and health and is author of the book Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength as well as co-author of the chapter “Nutritional Needs of Strength/Power Athletes”in the textbook Essentials of Sports Nutrition and Supplements. He is the personal nutrition and health consultant for numerous celebrity clients.
Kerrie Lee Brown is a writer, editor, radio personality, spokesperson, and motivational speaker. She is VP, Publishing and Communications for FAME Media Group and the World Natural Sports Organization (WNSO), as well as the author of A Woman’s Guide to Rapid Weight Loss. Kerrie is also the founding editor of American Health & Fitness magazine and the former editor-in-chief of Oxygen magazine. Throughout her ten-year career, Kerrie has written hundreds of articles on fitness, beauty, marketing strategy, motivation, exercise, weight-loss, entertainment, and profiles. She has also overseen numerous magazine launches and re-vamps, and worked with some of the most talented photographers, writers, models, art directors, publishers, and make-up artists in this industry.
