This past Saturday, WTR talked about the injury sustained by Florida Panthers’ player Richard Zednik which led to discussion about whether or not mandatory throat protection for NHL players should be brought in.We also previewed No Way Out, the latest WWE pay per view.

This past Saturday, WTR took a look at the Chris Benoit documentary on Canada’s CBC, in stark contrast to the ratings-grabbing sensationalism of the American news programs’ look at the tragegy falling last June. The conversation turned to concussions and the after-effects of them, touching on other sports, not just wrestling. Tim Stein related his own personal battle with having suffered a multiple concussion some years ago, and the effects just one (albeit major) concussion had on him. We also welcomed into the studio “The Lost Boy”, a brand new pro wrestling trainee and talked to him about what he is currently going through in learning the craft.Finally, we took a look at Smackdown leaving the CW Network at the end of their contract.

This past Saturday, WTR Primetime Saturdays took a look at last week’s Survivor Series results, Jericho’s return and more. We also looked at the rest of the wrestling world, sports news and discussion, and we planned on talking sports movies, but ran out of time.We introduced a new member of WTR in Sarah Daigenas well, and wrestling conversation turned into a “what if..” edition, since the 10 year anniversary of the “Montreal Screw-Job” passed last week. It became an in-depth look at what may have happened in WWE if the whole Survivor Series in Montreal was, indeed, a work: What would have become of D-X, Steve Ausitn, the entire Attitude era…
This past Saturday WTR, we were pleasantly surprized by the arrival of Stampede Wrestling’s #1 contender for the North American Heavyweight Title, “The Ravenous One”, Randy Meyers. Randy stayed for almost a full hour, talking the Independant wrestling scene, starting with the match he had this past Friday at the Bowness Sportsplex in Calgary, to new wrestlers to training and training camps, and about the fans of the sport. He also talked about the resurgance of Indy feds popping up all over Alberta and the problems that can cause. Randy also talks about women in pro wrestling!
This past Saturday, WTR Primetime Saturday spent a bit of time talking about the CNN documentary, “Death Grip”, and about the talent releases this week, as well as quick looks at this past week’s programming, Joanie Laurer’s name change, . We also quickly previewed TNA’s upcoming PPV as well.On the sports side, we took a look at the latest news and scores of the week, and set up next Saturday’s show, where we will be looking at the best sports/wrestling movies of all time!
