The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New Orleans Saints, 38-23 in New Orleans.  The team came together and did a lot correct, and very few things wrong.. a departure from most of the disappointing season.  McNabb’s legs and arm, as well as Westbrook’s amazing running, helped the offense like it hasn’t much seen for most of the season.  Westbrook is on par for many Eagles records, and should break two franchise records this week against the Buffalo Bills at home in Philly.

It was a battle as both teams did some hard hitting, some dirty plays by Cowboys players, and the Cowboys offense just couldn’t click. The win was sweet for Eagles fans, but the remotest of hopes were dashed the following night when the Minnesota Vikings won their game, mathematically eliminating the Eagles from the playoff picture. We talk about the win, the disappointment of the season, and the on and off the field troubles by franchise QB Donovan McNabb.

The Eagles lost a second heartbreaker in a row at the hands of backup quarterback A.J. Feeley. Feeley, after throwing three INTs in the loss to the Patriots the week before, threw another four INTs… and essentially losing two games in a row that could have been wins. This latest loss both essentially extinguishes the Eagles shot at a playoff position, and also Feeley’s chances of playing in an Eagles uniform again.

The Eagles defeated the hapless Miami Dolphins in very unimpressive fashion.  We discuss the game and our frustrations (again) with how the Offense has been run this season.  We also discuss McNabb’s abilities and Head Coach Andy Reid’s play calling, McNabb’s ankle injury and backup QB A.J. Feeley.  Of course we discuss the next game, against the dominant New England Patriots.

Since our last show two weeks ago, the Eagles continued their roller coaster ride of a season, getting trounced by their East Division rivals Dallas Cowboys at home, then taking out the Washington Redskins down I-95 in a beautiful 4th Quarter comeback win. We talk briefly about the Cowboys loss, and concentrate most of our talk about the Redskins win and what’s ahead for our Birds.

The Eagles come off their BYE week with a win over the hapless NY Jets. The Offense continues to struggle while the Defense continues to excel. We discuss concerns over the coaching decisions, McNabb’s effectiveness when pressured, and whether Brian Dawkins’ injury is worse than is being discussed publicly by the team. The team has a long road ahead of it, but if the puzzle pieces are put in the right order, there is a chance at the playoffs in the stretch.
