SF Giants Rumors: Sneak Past Kershaw, Lopez On Point, Injury Bug, Rubber Match

Photo Courtesy of Jesse Montellano The San Francisco Giants did something last night that they haven’t done since August 1, 2010. They beat the Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw had a lifetime record of 6-1 against the Giants with a 1.25 ERA in 12 games prior to last night’s showdown.   It took a [...]

Sportyblog.com: Nuggets Hold On In Wild Win Over Lakers

Anyone who was fortunate enough to get to watch last nights NBA game featuring the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Denver Nuggets got a real treat. This was a fun game on so many levels and the outcome was certainly not what most sports betting sites were predicting it to be.
You see, this was supposed [...]

Raiders Roster Review: Khalif Barnes

Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIRE Khalif Barnes and the Oakland Raiders share a dysfunctional yet productive relationship. Barnes is going on his fourth year wearing silver and black on Sundays, each season returning for a one-year deal. It’s as if both sides are afraid of commitment yet can’t imagine life without each other. In his first two years as a Raider, Barnes was pretty much a non-factor. A training camp injury robbed him of competing for a starting gig his first year. Once healthy in his second season the veteran tackle saw action in 16 games, featuring heavily in Tom [...]

Jockpost.com: Madden 13 Cover: Megatron’s Pic Kind Of Sucks

Madden 13 Cover with Calvin Johnson aka MegatronOf all of the awesome catches Calvin Johnson has made over the years, this is the best EA Sports could come up with? A more exciting and athletic wide receiver you will not find. Also, he doesn’t really have a confident look on his face. He’s in the middle of focusing on a ball that [...]

Raiders Confirm Reggie McKenzie’s House Cleaning

Last week word spread that Reggie McKenzie’s house cleaning of Oakland’s front office was well under way as he took his broom to the scouting department. Today the Raiders confirmed those moves with an announcement on their website. Jon Kingdon, George Karras, Bruce Kebric, and Kent McLoughan are all out as McKenzie continues to restructure the Raiders player-personnel department. As reported last week Kingdon and Kebric have been “relieved of their duties” while Karras and McLoughan are retiring. McKenzie issued the following statement. “This was a very difficult decision because these individuals have been part of this organization for all [...]

otrsportsonline.com: Werth to the DL as Zimmerman is activated

The Washington Nationals are having a good-news/bad-news type of day. The bad news is that they obviously had to place Jayson “I hate all Philadelphia fans and will firebomb that city when my wrist is healthy” Werth on the disabled list. You’ll remember that he broke his same troublesome wrist on Sunday night against the [...]

Raiders Roster Review: Joseph Barksdale

Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIRE The good news for Joe Barksdale is that he got to play in all 16 games as a rookie. Bouncing between guard and tackle Barksdale collected his fare share of reps after the Raiders took the former LSU Tiger in the third round of the 2011 draft. The bad news for Barksdale is that he might not see as much action during his sophomore campaign. At not at guard he won’t. Depending on how things shake out Barksdale is either going to be groomed as a full-time tackle where he could compete with Khalif Barnes [...]

Tommy Kelly To Take Over The NT Position

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE A few days ago a member of the Bay Area News Group sat down and interviewed Dennis Allen on a handful of topics including McFadden’s health, Terrell Pryor’s status and most importantly the Raiders possibilities for running a 3-4. After the draft one of the questions that I had was why the Raiders passed on a few nose tackle prospects. Although they got good mid-round talent, a lot of people were surprised that they didn’t fill the nose tackle position in the draft. This was a position that most people thought they needed to draft in [...]

Raiders Must Make Long-Term Commitment To Tyvon Branch

As expected after a report surfaced this morning morning Tyvon Branch made his return to Oakland official by signing the one-year franchise tender applied on March 1st. Reggie McKenzie opted to apply the franchise tag to Branch assuring the standout safety one year on the books for a nice sum of $6-million. In the short-term the solution makes sense and was truthfully the only move to make. Branch was due a healthy raise having completely outperformed his rookie deal. He was going to get his coin be it from the Raiders or as a free agent. There were those that [...]

otrsportsonline.com: Giroux suspended one game for hit on Zubrus (video)

The Philadelphia Flyers are already in a lousy situation against the New Jersey Devils. They are down 3-1 in the series, but it’s much worse than that. The Devils are killing the Flyers in most aspects of hockey. The Flyers can’t even carry it out of their own zone without a huge fight. And Game [...]

SF Giants Rumors: Mays Birthday, Pagan/Sandoval Record, Beat LA

The San Francisco Giants were able to salvage the home-stand by winning 2-out-3 from the Brewers. Yesterday was the living legend’s (Willie Mays) birthday. It was a great game to be in attendance and sing happy birthday to the man that once scored from first base on a base hit to left field, with no [...]

otrsportsonline.com: Nationals GM Rizzo responds to Cole Hamels

On Sunday night, Philadelphia Phillies stud Cole Hamels mowed down the Washington Nationals both literally and figuratively. He gave up just one run through eight innings, and also made sure he plunked Bryce Harper in the first inning. That wasn’t seemingly a big deal, except that he admitted after the game that he did it [...]

Jockpost.com: After The 2012 Olympics, Michael Phelps Will Become A Lazy, Stoner Nomad

It’s every one’s dream. To retire young and travel the world. And if you’re Michael Phelps, and that means partying it up, city jumping, and basically doing whatever the f**k you want, then call me jealous. Phelps will more than likely retire after the 2012 Olympics in London. And at 27 years old, Phelps has [...]

Ninersnation.com: 49ers Transactions 2012: A Complete Rundown Of Free Agency & NFL Draft

Raiders Roster Review: David Ausberry

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE If things pan out you can consider David Ausberry to be one of the last gifts Al Davis gave the Oakland Raiders. With the 241st pick of the 2011 draft the Raiders grabbed Ausberry out of Davis’ beloved University of Southern California. Perhaps a sentimental pick of sorts, Ausberry’s athletic ability just couldn’t be ignored by Davis. At 6’4”, 245-pounds and 4.48-speed there was no way Davis could pass on this prospect. Once a highly sought after recruit as a wide receiver prospect out of the Central Valley’s Lemoore High Ausberry never found his true place [...]

Ninersnation.com: NFL Draft Grades 2012: 49ers Will Just Have To Show Off Later

While most all of us agree that draft grades don’t have much value immediately following a draft, they are still intriguing to consider for general discussion purposes. While it is all entirely opinion-based, I find it interesting to see how outsiders …

otrsportsonline.com: Broken wrist for Jayson Werth

The Washington Nationals have been pretty damn excited lately and they’ve had good reason to be. They are off to an 18-10 start and own first place in the NL East. However, they’re taking on a bit of water. 3B Ryan Zimmerman is already hurt, as is Michael Morse, who was supposed to the be [...]
