NFL Week 9
Another tough week in the NFL, specifically for a Raiders fan like myself! Carson Palmer is now familiar with the Raiders scheme, and was actually pretty good against the Broncos. However, the Raiders broke down on the other side of the ball this weekend.
A defense that has beat the Jets and Arian Foster’s Texans had lots of trouble containing a below-mediocre quarterback in Tim Tebow and reverted to their notorious self-destructive selves.
Poor tackling and 15 penalties for 130 yards later, the Oakland Raiders handed the Broncos a come from behind victory in Oakland. It reminded me of the past 5 years in Oakland, playing down to teams and handing them the win. Horrible. Every team in this division plays down to the level of each other.
The AFC West is an interesting division, EVERY team wants to kill each other! You don’t see stuff like that in the NFC West (who really hates each other in that division?). Anyways, I think Palmer and Housh showed some promise but we need to stitch this team together on the defensive end of the ball. Discipline and sticking to lanes is required here. San Diego (and a fight for 1st in the division) is up next.
Speaking of the 49ers, there’s been some talk as to how they’ve been shutting down the run. Aside from a bad 1/2 half Philly team, who exactly have they stopped?
UFC on Fox
Velasquez vs Dos Santos is coming up next weekend, and I’m still a little sore that this is NOT in San Jose! Ok, let’s actually talk about the show! First off, Fox is only showing ONE fight which is the main event. All of the rest of the fights will be seen on Facebook. Now this makes me a little more irritated. Why the heck are we getting ONE fight on Fox?
Alright alright, let’s actually talk about the fight. Cain Velasquez (9-0) is coming off a prolonged injury facing a very tough Junior Dos Santos (13-1). Cain is a well rounded fighter who can take the fight standing OR on the ground. Junior is going to want to keep this fight standing, which is his strength.
I can’t help but pull for the local boy in Cain. Cain will control this fight by shooting Dos Santos and work the ground game. Look for a 1st or 2nd round KO from the ground here.
Ray’s Pick and STILL Champion: Cain Velasquez
Ray’s Music Pick
As some of you long time TPSers know, I’m a BIG music fan! I’ve missed hosting my old Blues Revue show, and have an itch to feature some music! So for now, I’ll be doing that here in my blog posts!
This week, I can’t think of a better person to feature that the great B.B. King! Enjoy!

As always, thanks for all the support for TPSRadio over the years and be sure to tune in often! I’m just sayin’!
